CALLING ALL ARTISTS!!!!
Here’s how YOU CAN HELP raise money and secure needed services for Cabbagetown Neighborhood and Cotton Mill Lofts residents who were displaced from their homes and/or lost property as a result of the tornado on Friday March 14, 2008:
Photographers, video artists, sculptors, installation artists, and any other visual artists are needed! We are calling on you to show your images, videos, mixed media and other works about the affected areas created during and after the tornadoes. Images and video may be presented as a photo essay, in documentary format or individual creative, narrative, or abstract pieces made from elements in the affected areas. No rules really... we simply want to share with everyone the immense loss and convey the need for support and donation. We respectfully request that all submitted artwork be made available for auction, however this is not a requirement. Photographers – We hope to obtain the support of a local professional printer to either donate or greatly discount photo printing and mounting service for the photos submitted to the show. This information will be available Monday, March 24, 2008. Printing and mounting your own work is STRONGLY encouraged, especially if you have a particular process and look to your work. ALL Artists – We have plenty of room, so there is no limit on size. Artists will be responsible for all transportation, installation, and removal of their artwork. For artwork that may be time-intensive to install, we recommend as early a submission as possible to arrange for early access to the installation space. Submissions – Submissions are welcome and on-going!!! We only have a week to put this show together, so start getting art work to us, or at least a commitment to getting your work to us right away. All work must be delivered by Friday, March 28th. Please provide any special hanging or installation materials with your work. ** Contact Michael Pisarri at: Michael@MichaelPisarri.com to submit your information - name, contact and the work you plan on submitting. He will be in the studio all week, so work can be dropped off any time. Please contact us with any questions (the sooner the better) so we have time to answer questions and address any issues that may arise. We hope to have you all participate in this great community outreach – Thank you very much!! Michael Pisarri, Brandon Sutton, and Vanessa Keating
